I have the above modem/router, I noticed that it has a SPI firewall, but I was wondering how do I check whether it is enabled and also; if needs be, how do I disable it?

Thanks

I am using the DG834G v3 and cannot find any reference to an SP1 firewall. Where did your info come from?

I got the info from the Netgear site, it mentions about the SPI firewall in the description of the DG834 G, I'll provide the link below. Its under the security part.

Open your router home page.

Left-hand side... 'Firewall Rules' and you'll see the firewall status - which can be modified.

I have one of these and the firewall is enabled by default. type into the address bar 192.168.0.1 and you have to enter the name admin and password password unless you changed them at installation - as shown on the bottom of the unit label. The various pages are then got at by clicking on the list on the left hand side.

This should help you click here

I have not found any reference to SPI in the setup manual or after accessing the router. HTH
