Netgear DG834 - can I turn off wireless?

I have a Netgear DG834 which I received free from my internet service provider. It's a great modem and I like using it.

This modem is only connected to my PC using the ethernet cable connection. I don't use the wireless at all.

I therefore need to know how to turn off the wireless functionality. Is this possible with this modem?

You just need to go into the routers interface via 192.168.0.1, log in and click on Wireless Settings on the left. Look for Wireless Access Point and untick Enable Wireless Access Point. Click on Apply and that should do it.

Thanks for a quick reply! :)

So to confirm - will this completely turn off the wireless signal?

I need to confirm because I specifically want to make sure that it is not sending out a wifi signal.

Thank you.

Yes, completely. You will obviously be able to re-enable at a later date if you wish.

Are you sure that it is a wireless one since the DG 834 is a hardwired router/modem, the DG834G is the wireless one. I use the 834.
