I have a 20X Liteon DVD/CD Writer & ReWriter and I am trying to use Nero 7 to burn a DVD. I have just found out that it is normal for my DVD drive (d:) to show up as being full (all blue disc), can someone confirm to me that this is correct. Also when I burn a DVD the audio is distorted as if it has sped up. I have tried a couple of times to burn a disc but I get the same result. Can anyone help me please?

If you are viewing the disk from My Computer D: drive it will show as full Windows can not read from a blank disk.

Thanks for clarifying that for me! I have just re-installed Nero 7 and it seems to have sorted out the audio problem that I mentioned before but now it's telling me that there is not enough disc space on my dvd disc although I have tried various new discs. It goes all the way through the transcoding process then ejects the disc and gives me the 'not enough disc space' message. It's driving me completely nuts! Am I being a numbnut here or is this a familiar problem?

Have you tried burning at a slower than the max speed for the disc's that you are using.

It depends on the length of the target dvd it may be a longer file than the blank dvd.shrink comes to mind ;-)

Thanks Strawballs and dadyassa.

I'm new to this so I will try burning at a slower speed once I've worked out how to do that ;~}

I appreciate your advice and will let you know what happens...

I reduced the speed but it is still doing the same thing, telling me that 'there is not enough disc space to burn this compelation to this disc. Please insert another disc that has enough space'. Details of the title I am trying to burn; 1h 25m 48s, 720 x 576 (CCIR-601 D) 4:3. It tells me 'The total space used 4.37 out of 4.38 GB (Quality Excellent). Not sure if someone could tell me if this is right or not!
