Need visual indication of CPU activity

My PC does not have any lights giving visual indication of either CPU or DVD/CD activity. I realise that you can use Task Manager to view the activity but I am looking for a screen visual indication such as PC Wizard 2007 (which does not always seem to function correctly) Anyone with thoughts on the matter? I pose the question as the PC on one occassion seemed to slow down considerably but I had inadvertently mistakenly configured the setup to schedule TWO backups for the same time. (I know - put it down to being a senior citizen)

Noted, but with PC Wizard 2007 it displays CPU activity in small lettering in the corner of the screen on top of evrything else and is therefore not intrusive - that is when it does work and shows the display.

Thanks for that - I am testing it out on old PC first, - but looks exactly what I had in mind.
