need for speed

Hi Members.
I'm only running on dial-up at this time because of the area that i live. i'm happy with what i get from Orange World dial up, but i've heard of accelerator programmes you can download to speed the thing up.
Doe's anyone have any recomendations or are they a big con.

There is "Onspeed" click here which can give a certain amount of speed increase by using data compression. However, already compressed data, such as .JPG files, won't transfer more quickly and comments on the system have been mixed.

Is "Mobile Broadband", which uses a USB adapter in conjunction with the mobile phone networks, an option in your area? It would be faster than dialup.
