Can anyone help? I want to buy a decent pc for home office to use for web design and video editing. I have a fair idea of what I need but would appreciate any help or advice anyone has to offer.

cheers :)

Intel make the best CPUs at the moment, and have always been the first choice for video encoding. The 6600 quad is not that much more than the top of the range duos and is well worth it for video work (assuming the software you use will take full advantage of the quad cores).

A duo should do all you need, Keep away from VISTA, Get XP if you can loaded. Get 2 Gb Memory and a good Graphics card

Thanks for advice, I will be using Adobe CS3 for all my project work.
