Need a new PSU

  quod01 16:18 10 Sep 2005

My computer is dead and have been advised to get a new psu. I have a chieftec HPC-360-202 but can't find another one to buy on the net.

Can anyone suggest another make of psu that is compatable with my one or a website where I could look.

Definitely foreign make but if you click here
you should see a picture of your old unit.

Almost any ATX PSU of about 400 watts should do.

One other point - my old psu is 20 PIN does 24 PIN or ATX 2.0 matter?

Most new PSU's come with a 20 + 4 pin plug for the MOB connection. If your MOB is 20 pin, then just use the 20pin plug, and disregard the 4 pin as it is a separate plug. You will have no problems. In fact I did exactly the same thing two weeks ago.

You don't need to worry too much about ATX 2.0 - version 2.01, for instance, came out in 1997...:-)

A PSU stated as suitable for a Pentium4 will fill your requirements - however, quality rather than quantity will pay off in the wattage department, although have something in reserve is useful with so many graphics cards having high demands. Some info:
