For no obvious reason, I've suddenly lost all sound on my XP Home machine. Device Manager has a big yellow symbol next to Audio Devices and the driver seems to be lost !!!Tried system restore, disabling and rebooting, etc but no sign of required driver.Belarc tells me that the system details are .........NEC Computers International 00000001System Serial Number: A123456789Chassis Serial Number: 50424EEnclosure Type: DesktopBoard: NEC Computers International SiS650 1.0Bus Clock: 100 MHzBIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 3.0B 11/02/2002Can anybody tell me where to get the required driver from (I've tried the NEC site but that requires data I don't have, same with Packard Bell whose badge is on the case) ?
Tryu the realtek XP driver as they seem to supply them for the world andf his wife....click hereG
If you have the cd with the motherboard drivers on there is usually a driver for the onboard sound
Possibly this driver if GANDALF's <|:-)> does not work click here
Way to go Skidzy ...... worked a treat !Many thanks !
