hi there, want to play movies on my laptop but watch them on my tv. i have a dell vostro 1500 with a nvidia 8600 graphics card 256mb. there is a s video 7 pin socket on the laptop but the tv has only got scart sockets at the back and at the front 3 sockets red, yellow, and white for audio and video. i've asked maplins if there is a cable for this and he said 7 pin s video sockets didn't exist. looked at pc world and e bay but cant find anything to suit.
if i can have any help resolving this it wolud be much appreciated and if a can get a cable, do i just plug it in and play or do i have to change lots of settings? got vista premium if that changes anything. cheers

A 4 pin S-video cable will work but you will need a S-Video to scart adaptor to connect it to the TV. Dont forget that you also need audio cables, usually 3.5mm to 2 x RCA.

you will find sufficient svs adapter to scart
click here you will need seperate audio fly leads which can also be fitted in scart adapter, hope this helps.
