Need help changing my Wireless router admin pass!

  gazmix 01:44 11 Feb 2008

I have an orange, siemens wireless router working via a wired connection.
I have a link to it via my desktop that a friend helped me setup.

I want to change my admin password, but don't know how to!

This is the link to the setup :-

We could do with the exact make and model of the router however you need to log in using the link you posted and enter the current user ID & Password. Then look for something like Router Management or Tools>User Management. There will be a place where you enter a new password twice to confirm and then apply/save the setting which usually reboots the router.

Refers to a DLINK router.

User name default= admin

Password= default= admin

You can then access the router's settings

The link could refer to many routers (gets into my Livebox)

The model number is in the link :) Sell these myself so recognised it.

To change your admin password access the router

Click Management-Setting-Access Control-Passwords

That link points straight the internal IP address of your own router, which would be why you recognised it.

For me it would be a Dlink, for my neighbour it would point to a Netgear (I know, because he installed it on Friday & hasn't secured it yet)

For a D-link router to change your admin password you click the Tools tab at top of display page after you have access the router

its an Orange, Siemens,Gigaset SE 572 WLAN dsl wireless router.

i clicl on my router admin in desktop & enter my password & i get a load of options, just can't see where an option is to change my current admin password!
Not my usename & pass that is everything after the @ sign & password to bring up y account when i contact customer service, i mean the admin pass, that prevents people hacking my router!
