If I use Times New Roman there's no problem, but the local magazine I edit uses American Garamond font. It seems impossible to get a Euro symbol to appear in that font. Any solution, please.
It's in Character map, or try Alt+0128. Hold the Alt key down while pressing the 0,1,2,8 keys in sequence (on the numeric keypad) & release the Alt key. G

should have said it was the character set that did it; Alt + numeric code produced only a rectangle.
I think you were doing Alt+0129 (i.e. 9 instead of 8), but I'm glad the Character Map sorted it :-). G
