Already equipped with a Motorola SB4200E Surfboard cable modem. Would like access point with USB interface to the modem and 128 WEP as well as (2) compatible WNICs. Also, do I need to be concerned with frequency and or European standardization issues?

Advice and or war stories appreciated...

Need to hear from you wireless experts...

I have just set myself with a AD-Hoc wireless LAN. The units are by Belkin and are USB. Each one costs about £60. Setup is on the whole very straightforward. The main problem I had was with configuring the Firewall (Free Zone Alarm version).

If you want further instructions let me know.

Can't talk to the USB point but I just set up a Wireless access point connected to my ethernet ADSL modem and one wireless PCMCIA card for a laptop total £150 D-link equipment bought from ebuyer.com

I know d-link also make a USB access point.

Very easy to set up upto 256 WEP and 22MBPS transfer speed rather than the standard 11MBPS
