just bought the above drive, only burning at 8x speed on cd audio. no drivers came with drive.running xp what do i do, can anybody help
No driver is needed, but you need a burning software. Nero is the best. You can get OEM version (work with all burners I was told) for £4 from click here.if you do not want to pay, you can download fully working version every 30 days from nero's web te click here
how do you up your speeds, i have nero 6
A driver IS needed, but CD/DVD/ROM drives and rewriters all use the basic Windows CDROM driver, which installs automatically when you add the hardware. If you go to Windows' System Information and look up your drive(s) you will see the CDROM driver listed for each device. Some people also confuse drivers and firmware. It's software such as Nero Burning Rom which allows the use of your rewriter for its intended purpose.
24 speed EproFormence for audio burning & 8x RiDisc for dvd burning
Nero's OEM Suite 3 is better for DVD use although it's a bit dearer at £8+ - even so that's almost certainly cheaper than buying from the ahead website. It should include NeroExpress6, IN-CD4, Nerovision Express 2 and MPEG-2 SVCD/DVD plug-in amongst its features.
