trying to remember the name for the older type of memory which fits in the dimm socket at a angle with them spring clip things. is it SIMM ? Or Sodium. I know its was before SDRAM.Tried looking around but not getting much joy. I have 4x 4MB stick of it but its bugging what the name is.
EDO ram. 72 pin Simm. click here :-)
EDO, forgot about that one. Them were the days. Thanks for the link, I looked at Crucial but didn't recognise it.
There are two types of SIMM, and they both look the same - EDO and non-EDO. Make sure you get the correct type if you are looking for an upgrade.
From memory (sorry no pun intended) my old DELL PIII used a special type of EDO Ram called ECC ram which had nine chips instead of the usual 8. It had error correcting properties.
