Powerless is quite right, though I doubt if there is much upgrade potential in your board as far as processor speed is concerned. Better to look at more RAM if you're a bit short at the moment.

downloading now tar

Did AMD do a K6 faster than 500Mhz?

You should be looking at you Internet Explorer with the following page "Computer Profile Summary".

On the right look for "Main Circuit Board" < That is your moterboard.

Just copy and paste the information below and post it.

Board: Shuttle Inc. VIA APOLLO MVP3 (HOT-597) 2A5LEH2C
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: Award Software International, Inc. 4.51 PG 12/27/99

From the via site.

Through its flexible 66/75/83/95/100MHz Front Side Bus, the VIA Apollo MVP3 chipset optimizes the performance of a complete range of desktop and mobile AMD-K6™, AMD-K6-2™, AMD-K6-II™I, and VIA Cyrix? MII™ processors running at speeds of up to 533MHz.

I would suggest that there is therefore no worthwhile upgrade from the processor you currently have.
