Hello,

I have an Hp pavilion running windows XP home, and I'm not sure what happened, but every time I do a system restore, I lose about 4 Gigs of hard disk space. not only that, but the restore takes about 40 mins (just done one in fact) and went from 30 Gig to 27 Gig (was 37 Gig last night, so I’ve lost 10 gigs - without downloading/installing a single program!. This happened before, and I just did a Format, but I would rather know what's happening here.

The HD is 60 Gigs big, and with about 4-5 gigs used for recovery.

TIA for any information provided.

Anthony

Yeah my 40GB lost 11GB after recovery. Buy a hard drive partition program which can recover that unallocated space. You will never get 60/60GB but you should get about 56GB.

NOTE: Windows XP and BIOS files do snatch about 5% of your hard drive.
