Is my hard drive broken?

  Pentium 4 Northwood 20:10 19 Apr 2005

My pc stopped loading, it said that a file was corrupted, so i must reinstall/ repair windows. I tried to do so with the setup disk, it came up with 'error 4' cannot contiune. I erased the hard drive again, and it came up with the same message! i can't even reinstall windows now! Is my hard drive broken, or is it some terrible boot section virsu thing.... which has killed my motherboard or something (updated the bios a few days ago, but worked fine til now...)

Try a bootable floppy to format the drive, from, say, click here

And then try booting with the CD.

Post the exact error message.
