My Documents -twice

The following I seemed to recall has happened to me in a previous incarnation of Windoze.
I seem to have two 'My Documents' folders.
One displayed in my computer as normal, and another which comes up if searchng through explorer or on the desktop. They each seem to have their own different contents.
I am going to try to bring them together
But how does it come about in the first place?

Right click on the folder and select "Properties" under the "Target" or "General" tab have a look at "Target folder location" or "Location". This will tell you the difference between the two.

i had two my documents folders after i'd tried to move the original. xp moved the folder but on next start up reinstated a 'my docs' back to the original location. i found that changing the target folder location was a better way of doing it by right clicking my docs, selecting properties then writing in the new target.

Thank you both. I also had a 'jack's' documents too
Windoze certainly like to over egg things.
Got 'em all to gether now,
