when i go into my documents and try and open a file i have saved in there, its not responding and says at the bottom of the page 'scan requesting' and then just does nothing at all, i have ran a virus scan and its clear.thanks
Have you enabled the Word plug-in in NAV

Depends which version you are using. click here and disable the plugin.
