Is your CD drive workling OK as a Player? Does it show up OK in "my computer?"

Did you get/Have you got any software that came with the CD-RW - a Nero disk or similar?

umm ive put music cd's and its not playing them!
The tray opens and the lights flicker but it seem to notice that the cd is in because you can hear the sound of it starting up but it just stops again, it just doesnt display in the R:\ drive that a cd is in there? i was working about a month ago.

Try removing CD from Device Manager then restart computer so windows car rediscover the CD

I had the same or similar trouble with WMP 10.
I uninstalled and then re- instored and Voila! he discs were recognised.
PS make sure your DVD RECORDER ETC ACCEPTS THE TYPE OF DISCS YOU ARE USING ( sorry caps were on ) check your CD infor for this

If the last 2 suggestions don't work, your drive may have gone faulty.
