My AVG has just said i need to update but when i click on it I get this:-"Internet connection has failed please check your internet connection settings"But i am on broadband so im already connected!can anyone suggest anything?
I forgot to say that i have updated it before with no problems!!
Happening a lot recently - just put AVG into the search box on the left and you'll see lots of threads about the same thing.Mine is doing the same as yours at the moment, but it'll update eventually
Yes Keep trying. Also type AVG into the search box on this site or go to AVG's web site and look at their forum
Got the update a few minutes ago after about 10 tries. Pays to keep trying
Just leave it to do its own thing and get on with other things - the update download will eventually come through.At least grisoft is continuing to provide a first class updates service even though it's a free product.

After three days of no updates I went to Avast and have just had the latest one without fuss or interference from me.
See the 'Help' file on the grisoft.cz website about Zone Alarm if you are running that program too. There is a known problem which is easy to restore with full instruction (takes about 5 mins).
Just a thought about AVG. At one stage (IIRC during the installation) you are asked if you wish to do updates via the Internet or from a disk; you OK your appropriate choice.Perhaps this has been missed by some people when upgrading to AVG7?
