have a friend who's a musician. He is looking for good music studio software. Any suggestions?

just moved from 128mbts to 600 cable - fly's like an eagle!!!!!!!!!!!!!

does he want to edit sound or create it?


I use Sonic Foundry Sounds Forge 6 which is pretty good for sound editing (industry standard or one of at least).

I think i've heard of a creation tool which is called "Cool Edit" i think.

then there's Q-base or is it Cuebase? thats pretty good. a mate of a mate uses it to help with his rock band. Not sure what he does with it tho.

Another one my son uses is, Cakewalk Music Creator, which allows you to have multiple digital audio tracks as well as midi.
This would be similar to Cuebase as mentioned by Mysticnas.
