Music playing at double speed in itunes and winamp

  nicholasep 19:48 08 Aug 2008

I recently uninstalled my old Creative soundcard and went back to onboard sound. This was fine for a while until i realised that I still had some creative sound-related programs running in the background. I removed these and now when i play music in itunes or winamp it sounds like its being played too fast and is underwater.

Windows media player and VLC are able to play my files normally.

Also, i have all computers in my house networked and when i tried to play my itunes library on the other PC, it had the same problem. This makes it feel a bit more like file corruption.

I tried new audio codecs, new drivers and reinstalling winamp and itunes but nothing has worked so far. help!
