Multiple emails

  shellship 11:03 09 Mar 2007

I have Outlook XP as my email and have created many rules in an attempt to direct emails into the right folder. Very often I will get 2 or 3 copies of the same email which go into different folders. It looks as though the duplicates are coming from my ISP. Anybody know why, please.

I don't know how the rules in Outlook work, but is it possible that the selection criteria / process works such that an email satisfies more than one set of criteria and so is copied to more than one folder?

In Outlook Express, one can say, on satisfying a rule, stop processing more rules.

Thanks. Have tried this one without success. Will get on to ISP mailbox to see if multiples are there.
