mtu size

I have just put in a Netgear router, v easy, but it will let you change the mtu size. what is the best value or will it speed my connection up if I twiddle it?

log onto their web page click here.......... what ever your login number is (it's on the paperwork) and use admin as your login and password as your password, then change to your hearts content.
you will find the mtu settings on the left under "advanced > WAN setup"

the blue link won't work and shouldn't have done anyway....the point I was trying to make was to log into the netgear site by using the http address given when you set up the router on your comp

MTU must be set at 1400 if you are on AOL, the default is higher than this but will cause connection problems if it is set any different

Dr TCP is Ok as a precaution you can backup the registry and if it goes wrong it can be reversedIt is just a registry access point. If you use this it gives recommended values for Dr TCP
