MSN Messenger 7 Problem

  nedrick 23:04 13 Jan 2006

MSN Messenger 7 has recently kept crashing upon startup, if you leave this for a while (10-15 minutes) it eventually starts properly but the whole PC is frozen in the meantime. I used TCPview which lists all TCP and UDP endpoints and noted that when MSN was opened, the list became endlessly long, so much so tcpview crashed itself. Presumably some kind of virus but I cannot seem to find anything more about it nor remove it despite using several anti-virus software packages. A friend is using ZoneAlarm to combat this and it works but on a home-network, ZoneAlarm has caused me problems so I would prefer a better solution, ideas?

Thanks all.
