Hi all

I have the above board with bios version 5.7 and im running an xp2700+. all is well

But, twice in about a month i restarted and turned the pc on and it gives me three beeps or more from the bios and wont boot or anything. I just push the reset button and it then boots up fine. Hasn't happened in a while but was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

3 beeps indicates memory problems.

will give it a go when i get home from work tonight.

I read that on the latest nforce chipset boards that you should put the ram (if you have just two) in slots one and three.

Is this the same for a 333 chipset like mine.

I'm using 2 x512mb pc2700 twinmos ram.

at the moment they are in slots 1 and 2 (the two nearest to the cpu)

Try re-seating. If that don't work download and run DocMemory from click here

This will make a bootable floppy which runs diagnostics on your memory.
