MS Works converting problem to Vista Home Premium

Is it possible for data produced under MS Works (about 2000 or 2001) and now copied to removable media, to be converted and imported to run on a new computer with virgin Vista Home premium installed? Vista says it cannot open .wks files and needs to know what program created them.

If so, how can this be achieved and the exact converter required? (I am not networked, but have broadband)
