MS Word and watermarks

I am using Word 2003 and trying to set up a watermark which does not appear on various pages of the report. I have trawled through the Microsoft hep and support center to no avail and followed the less than helpful Word help - ideas gratefully appreciated.

If you set your document up as a section per page you can have, or not have, watermarks as you wish on individual pages. You can even choose to have different watermaks on each page.

To add your watermark open up the Header and Footer option from the View menu and insert the watermark graphic into the Header. You can then resize the graphic to suit your page.

You can set up a watermark that appears on every page or one that appears on one page only.

The difference is, where you create the watermark in the first instance.

If you want to have the watermark on every page, create the watermark in a header or footer and then resize if necessary and drag it to where you want it on the page.

If you only want a one off, or perhaps different watermarks on various pages, create it on the page itself, and then it will only bind itself to that page.
