MS update problem solved but MS makes new one

Installing the new ZA update has solved the MS update problem. But now MS keeps telling me (red shield) that ZA is off while ZA says it is not! ZA seems to be working and is active and asks if I want to allow net connections.

What is up and how can I stop the irritating MS warning - assuming always that it is not a genuine warning?

Is the za "z" icon showing in the tool bar?

Go to control panel>security :

choose the ZA from the list, then show me my options, then click "I have a firewall / antivirus programme that I will monitor myself"

This will stop MS nagging you about the lack of security that doesn't exist. Many AV and antimalware programmes are not recognised by security centre. As long as you know it's on and up to date you are ok.

crosstrainer,

Did that. It worked. Monitoring is now off; I will have to keep a close watch for probs.

Thanks.

PS In XP it is click on Reccomendations and then on the box you mention.
