Hi all,

I've just bought a laptop which is running Vista Premium, to replace my ageing PC (XP). I used Outlook on my pc and want to do the same on the laptop, sounds easy...but:
1. I can't fnd my Office 2000 disc's to install it, and would it work with Vista anyway.
2. Does anyone know a site where a Vista compatabe version of Outlook can downloaded.
Many thanks for any help.

It will work with Vista but you cannot download elements of MS Office.

You'll have to search a bit harder for that missing disk.

Or buy a new one.

Unfortuneately I've turned the place upside down and no joy! So if I buy Office 2007 will that run on Vista and XP?

You can try out Office 2007 here and/or download a 60-day trial

I shouldn't bother to search for your Outlook 2000 disc any more.

When my wife bought a new Vista Home Premium computer, we loaded her Office 2000 package on to it, so she could use Outlook 2000 as her email client. It was a disaster! I can't remember the full details (this was last year) but all kinds of things wouldn't work, or got screwed up.

Word 2000 and Excel 2000 are fine under Vista, but Outlook 2000 - forget it.

Try googling "outlook 2000 under vista" and you'll strike a rich vein of problem reports.

Just to highlight that the Home and Student addition no longer has Outlook.

Microsoft Office Professional academic edition does have Outlook.

I understand that Office 2007 will run on both XP and Vista.

Err, we established that in my post of 1 week ago.

Sorry, CIG - I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast this morning!
