MS Outlook 2003 Error

  Gigs 12:17 01 Sep 2005

I have just upgraded to Office 2003Pro from 2000 and use Outlook.
All the Word programs seem to work OK but I am having problems with Outlook. When I first start Outlook it downloads my emails OK then I get the error '0X80070053, One or more parameter values are not valid' I also sometimes get '0X8004210A, time out' error
I have got all the Office updates and read lots of remarks about this error on the internet. It seems fairly common but I cannot work out what to do.
I am using WinXP Pro
I like the anti-spam setup on Outlook 2003 so I would like to continue using it.
Can anyone help please or is it time to switch to another email program?

My advice is not to bother about the SPAM feature in Outlook2003, as in my opinion it is very poor. You are much better using an altertive product such as Spambayes (click here)

Thanks ThorPet
Will that rid me of the problems I have outlined? Is it the anti-spam which is causing it?

I doubt it as this problem has been around since Outlook 98. Still trying to find some sort of answer for you though...

Am using the AVG free version. I have just reloaded Office 2003 and still get the same problem.

Try turning off AVG's e-mail scanner click here

Turned off the scanner. Still getting the 0X80070057 error.
