I am using MS Office Pro 97, and have many letters and documents etc.
I want to uninstall, then re-install it.
Would I lose my files?

No you wouldn't lose your files but it is more prudent to backup all your documents so that you have a copy of them burnt on a CD or copy them onto a flash drive or something else that is separate from your harddrive.

This will not only stop you worrying about them when you uninstall Office97 it will also be a safeguard against losing them if your harddrive fails or you get a virus that corrupts data files etc.
