MS office 2007 issues

I am running XP & MS office 2000. Recently I started getting a new icon showing when I attempted to use the office word function.Whenever I try to open a word doc it says - no associated program. When I right click & select the word program , there are other options that look like the new icon I have mentioned ? I have also had to say no to changes that say MS word 2007 is trying to run ? Can anyone please help , I dont have word 2007 as far as I know ? how do I get rid of this , the MS office / word 2000 is just fine for me ! many thanks to everyone.

Word 2007 files differ in format.(Notice the ".docx") To read them in previous versions you need to allow Windows to download files to allow your Office 2000 to convert. I have had the same trouble with my 2003 when folk with more up-to-date versions send me email attachments!
