MS Money 2000

know what happened there.

Someone mentioned in a previous thread that the above was compatible with XP. Well, it isn't as far as the backup facility is concerned.

Given this, I am concerned that there may be other problems that have not yet come to light so I am (very reluctantly) going to upgrade to a later version, evern though I do not think they are as user-friendly as 2000.

Now, does any know of any problems with Money 2005? I have 2004, which I installed and removed as I didn't like it, so I wonder whether I might be better off with 2005.

Any views would be welcome.

See if you can get a copy of Money 2002, there isn't much difference between that and 2000, and it is compatible with XP.

2004 was the oldest version I could find.

2002 disappeared from the shops in mid-2003 when version 2003 was introduced.

I have been using MS Money 2000 since it came out and when I changed to XP about eighteen months ago I found no difference whatsoever. I back up to my hard drive and a memory stick.

What is the problem that you are experiencing?

If you get stuck email me and I will see if I can help.

Are you using SP2?

FDD does not close down and keeps demanding that a disc be inserted after the backup completed, program colsed down and disc removed.

Sometines, during backup, the "Do you wish to backup this file" windows opens.

I am using SP2 and upto a couple of months ago I was backing up onto my FDD without any problem. I have recently started using a memory stick and after changing the back up preferences it worked perfectly.

I am sure that MS Money 2000 isn't the problem as I know of several others who are using it with XP SP2 without problems.

Have you tried reinstalling MS Money?

I am still using Money 97 with XP Pro, and have no problems at all. What sort of problems are you having?

  Southernboy 15:23 08 Apr 2005

Yes. Problem remains.

Ventanas - The problems are detailed in the thread.

I'm sorry I can't think of anything further. I know its no consolation but it definitely isn't Money. If it was the Program Compatibility Wizard would resolve it. You have tried that have you?
