MPEG File - no sound

  Habsish 20:33 24 Jun 2008

Have a mpeg file copied onto my external hard drive from someone elses computer.

The file runs in Media Player on my desktop OK but there is no sound. Picture quality is fine.

Checked all the usual things concerning sound set up on my Windows XP (SP2) computer (suitably updated). Other mpeg files from a different sources work OK.

When the file is run in Media Player it says it is looking for a CODEC that it finds.

The file works OK on my laptop that runs Windows Vista.

Any suggestions as to how I could run it on my Widows XP computer and get sound as well.
