mp3 problems

i bough an mp3 player 128mbv and i would like to fit more than 30 songs on it so is there any software that can compress mp3 files and still allow me to send them to the player and listren to them

You could reduce the bitrate, that reduces the size of the files but it also reduces the quality as well. I presume you have software to create MP3s so what I'd try is ripping an MP3 at a lower bitrate and see if you think its acceptable. The only other idea is if your MP3 player can take windows media files, they I believe are smaller without losing much in the way of quality but you would need to find out if your MP3 player can play them, I presume you instructions for your MP3 player would tell you this.

You could always convert your MP3's to mono so that the quality remains basicaly the same, only it's 1 channel... That'll cut the size in half hopefully...
