MP3 Player - will only allow access to 4 folders

  dms05 11:25 19 Mar 2007

I've just bought a 4Gb MP3/MP4 player with a nice colour screen. I initially loaded 4 folders of music (typically 10-30 tracks per folder). These all played OK and I could swap between folders. They took up the first page of the display.

I have now loaded another 10 folders using up 25% of the total memeory of the player. However not only can't I swap to folders higher than the intial 4 loaded I also cannot now change folders. At the point of selecting to move folders the player reverts to the last track selected.

The firmware with the player is:

LG MP3 PLAYER / SCC91-002 9CM60026 / Date 12/1/07 / Version 9.0.50

Anyone any idea what the problem is?

The problem was the layers of folders before you reached xxxx.mp3. Originally I had:

Root / Artist / Album / xxxx.mp3

When I removed one layer (album) all worked well, so I finished up with:

Root / Artist / xxxx.mp3

Maybe I was overloading the firmware but the original Folder format was as produced by WMP and other ripping programs.
