What do you mean "normal music"?

You mean RIP CDS? ie take songs off an ordinary music cd.........pop the cd in the computer and use windows media player, choose the rip option from the menu.

Convert/compress and edit different file types of music? I use nero wave editor for that.

Which OS and what exactly are you doing?

Plenty of programmes can do it. Just use Windows Media Player 10 in XP. Put in a music CD into your CD/DVD rom drive and click the Rip tab on media player and the tracks will be converted to mp3.

I use a program called CDEX. With this program you put your cd into your drive open the program and then it converts the tracks 1 at a time into MP3 format

Hope this helps
