Mozilla won't start

I connect to the net successfully but Mozilla won't start. I get the splash screen...then it hangs. It won't go, even when I call up windows task manager. Other net based applications seem to work OK. I can update my anti-virus and anti-spyware successfully. I was forced to reinstall Internet explorer and outlook Express (which both work fine) just so I could try and get some help online! But I'd prefer to have Mozilla. Apart from all the family members' emails that are stored, it is much better than IE and OE when it comes to blocking pop-ups and junk mail. Has anybody seen or read anything about this problem with Mozilla?
