Moving backups to external drive

Hi,

I have two backups on my laptop. I'd like to move one of them to an external drive to free up some space.

I initially tried to zip this backup, this was successful, but created an additional zip copy using more space.

I moved the zip copy to the external drive & tried to delete the original backup. I could not delete the original.

I'd rather not delete it at all, just move it, but I can't figure out how to do this without creating a copy.

TIA
Mitsme

Can you right-click drag it to the external drive? When you right-click drag, you are given the option to "Move" rather than just copy.

Hi Maj

Thanks for reply. It doesn't give me that option. I will have to wait until tomorrow to get working on it again. Any suggestions in the meantime greatly apreciated. I have searched the forums & can't find a thread that would help, I'm sure there's something.

This thread is now locked and can not be replied to.
