Moviemaker and Saving Movie Files

Having trouble saving a Moviemaker Project as a Movie File.

Tried to save the project 3 times but each time only 51% of the project is saved and then the time allocated for saving starts to increase rather than decrease! Looks to me like the saving process stalls at 51%.

What could be going wrong?

One thing to do is turn off all background progs so processor can work harder. Another thing is to make sure your drives have DMA enabled (Go to Device Manager/IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, and open up Properties on each drive and check for DMA if available.) Also defrag hd before rendering. Plus increase paging file size.

Checked all drives and have enabled DMA. How do I increase paging file size?

Do you have enough space to save it to that drive,
try saving it to an external drive with plenty of space if you have one.

Yes - have plenty of space on drive.

Press Flag button (between Ctrl and Alt) and Pause/Break together to bring up panel,go to Advanced, Then Performance, then Advanced, then Vertual memory and double to size of paging.

As rawprawn suggests it's usually better to render to another partition or drive if there's probs.
