After I have taken footage off a DVD I also need to edit it so I run windows movie maker but the footage I get after I have use it and ready to put it on youtube or other sites is not good sound and blocky picture .
I am using prism video converter then windows movie maker .
I am not sure also if the DVD is encoded if that makes a difference.

So this is a home made dvd and you are running Vista as in xp wmm wont touch dvd video footage.Where did the original footage come from and is it on a dvd video or data dvd

Original footage is on DVD from a production in the UK ,I am running vista and using wmm and I have the footage on the hard drive but when editing using wmm I can not get the sound or picture very good .

Ok cant help with wmm but if all you need is to cut sections then dvd shrink will do this its free .I think you can upload Vob files anyway but if not once you have your sections you can convert to whatever you nedd .In the editing stage with shrink there should be no loss of quality whatsoever
