Move IE6 Favorites From C: to D:

  David4637 13:47 01 Jan 2007

I tried dragging the above folder and lost all the favorites when I opened it on the D:
I want them on the D: for backing up purposes.
Thank goodness for Acronis TI 8 which got them back for me. Please advise if I can move this folder and how?

File > Import/Export and export a copy to your D drive.

My computer > "C" drive > documents and settings > * your name * > highlight fav's. Copy and paste in D.

Thanks for your reply, but I do not want a copy, but I want the "master" set of Favorites on the D:, which I dont think will work with your suggestions, is this so? Thanks again. David

Your help please. Thanks David

"I want the "master" set of Favorites on the D"

In which case use C drive; Documents and Settings; your name; highlight Favourites and then click 'Move this folder' at the top left in the File and Folder Tasks.

Select wherever you want the folder on the D drive from the pop-up menu

I can not find any option in Folders (Favorites highlighted) that gives me a move option.
Have XP SP2, 512MB, 60GB.

Please confirm how you got to move?
Thanks David

Exactly as per my instructions of 4/1 at 17:06.
