Hi

My 8 year old has somehow managed to disable the mouse pad on my Asus laptop running XP home - there are no keys with a mouse pic on it and no amount of Fn+key pressing will enable it.
I am writing this with a USB trackball mouse that works fine, any ideas?
Many thanks
Sam

Probably Fn+F7 (or could be F9) but it will be another F key

Have a look in Control Panel under Mouse under Device Settings Tab Press the Settings button on that page if there is one. Have a poke round in there for settings to enable it

PS other than that, Go to Web Site for Laptop and Download touchpad software

Although windows say its working, files may be corrupt try uninstalling touchpad in device Manager then Reboot for it to find new hardware and losd drivers for it

On my Compaq just at the top of the pad there is a little bar which if pressed disables the mouse pad. Is it possible this has been pressed in error
