mouse going haywire

Hi guys an gals

Just put a machine together

512 3200 mem
geforce fx 5200
windows xp

All went great together but, when playing games, like for instance far cry or call of duty.
The mouse starts going off its head moving all around the screen and im unable to take control of it for about a minute!
Do you think it could be the graphics drivers?
The drivers i installed came on a cd with the card!
The mouse is okay when on desktop its just in games!

I would also be interested in the answer, mine does the same in COD, I think it is something to do with it being wireless though!

Anyone know???

this sounds like slow down to me.

what resolution are you playing far cry and call of duty in?

the 5200 card will struggle unless the game settings in far cry are set to low and 800x600 and try 1024x768 or 800x600 medium settings in call of duty.

is the geforce fx 5200 any good?

its ok for causual gaming but in the latest games you will need something faster to play them on higher settings or with effects turned on.

as above try playing at 800x600 with no anti alaising or anisotropic filtering turned on (control panel/display/settings/advanced/ and click the fx5200 tab then click 'performance and quality settings' and try setting everything to 'performance

in the games set the resolution to 800x600.if they plays smoothly then try 1024x768 and test it.the higher the resolution and settings will slow the gameplay in the latest games.
