mouse freezes up

ANY ONE GIVE ME A CLUE WHY MY MOUSE GOES ON STRIKE.IT FREEZES UP FOR NO APPARENT REASON YET THERE SEEMS NO PATTERN TO WHEN IT IS GOING TO DO THIS. I AM RUNNING X.P. HOPE SOMEONE HAS AN IDEA ON THIS.

Is it an optical mouse? If so try using a different coloured surface, mine wouldn't work on a shiny black surface!

just try this it may work, right click desktop choose properties settings advanced performance drop the slider down one notch

If you have a cordless mouse it may be hungry. A new set of batteries will get it going again.

Have you got enough Ram? My mother's mouse kept freezing intermittently until I upgraded the Ram for her.
