Motorola L6

Locked

I have a Motorola L6 connected to an O2 Network. In 6 months I have only made 3 calls and received the same number, but this doesn't worry me financially, as cash back ensures that it is not actually costing me anything. When the contract is up, it would be useful to keep it in the car in case I break down on the way to my business, but I'm unlikely to use it for anything else as I hate the damn things. My question is: When the contract runs out, I will cancel it, but what options are open to me to keep it for the use described?

If this is a mobile phone you are talking about you are in the wrong forum. This is a computer helpline forum.

Which forum should I be in then? Much as I dislike mobile phones, PC Advisor does review them, so it seemed logical to post here.

All you need is a PAYG (Pay As You Go) sim card

If your phone is locked to O2 then either unlock the phone or fit a PAYG O2 sim.bought my vodaphone PAYG sim from the local post office for £3 with a pounds worth of calls already on it.

How do I know if it is locked? Is unlocking Easy?

If your phone is on contract that is is probably locked to O2.

Can be unlocked easily by phone shps for about a fiver.
Or you can download unlocking software from the net. (a little riskier,)

Unlocked a nokia7610 a couple of nights ago very easy to do.
