can any one tell me my motherboards max cpu, as i want to get the AMD athlon 3000+ (socket A)
mobo model is VT8366-8233

This is the type number of the VIA chipset in your m/b, not the model number of the m/b itself. Do you have any other number?

all i now is it came with a HP pavilion 790 computer. ive used a program to tell me what the motherboard is and it just gives that number above sorry for the lack of info, hope this helps

What cpu are you running at the moment?

The motherboard should be a MSI MS-6382. Unfortunatley it seems as it will not go that high for the 3000+ cpu.:-( click here
