Motherboard Monitors

There was a thread in the Forum a few days ago about Motherboard Monitors.

The most popular one seemed to be click here

I downloaded it and started to install. However, when the installation asked me to choose my motherboard I was somewhat peed off to find that mine wasn't supported (a 4+ year old Dell Dimension 8200).

Can anybody recommend a Motherboard Monitor that does support my PC?

I'm particularly interested in monitoring temperature and fan speed during this awful hot weather.

The Dell motherboard is very likely to be a rebadged version of an established manufacturer's product.

Once you know who made it you can, no doubt, use the excellent Motherboard Monitor.

According to this (click here) it uses an Intel 850E chipset.

Is this the motherboard?

Thanks for that.

However, I just had another look at the MBM website and they do actually list supported motherboards by PC manufacturer which I missed first time around.

My Dimension 8200 is specifically excluded! click here

Any other Motherboard Monitors available?

Yes, I had to scroll through a list of MSI mobos to find my KT6V..:-)

Your Dell doesn't appear to have the necessary sensors judging by your link, so may not work with any motherboard monitor utility.

Some available at:

Note the XP advice near the bottom of the Intel link.

Thanks for the links.

I'll give them a try.

It's a hot day, which is probably forgotten that Everest Home Edition provides CPU and mobo temperatures and CPU fan speeds. You can download it from:

Once installed, open Everest and click on Computer>Sensor.

The details appear in the right hand panel and are continuously updated.

...which is probably why I've forgotten...

Thanks for the Everest link. Installed and working a treat.

Now for the naive question. :-(

Everest tells me that my graphics processor temp is 124F and my HDD is 115F.

Should I be worried?
